Interesting date ideas this Valentine’s Day
Are you at a loss of what to do this Valentine’s Day! Do not fret! There are many new, creative and innovative ways to create the perfect mood and ambience! Here’s a list of interesting date ideas to let sparks fly and keep you occupied this Valentine’s Day!
Sunset picnic
Have a picnic at East Coast Park, Fort Canning Park, Kent Ridge Park, Bishan Park or Botanic garden or anywhere green, cool and peaceful. Go just before the sun sets so it is not too hot. Prepare light food such as sandwiches, salads, pies, biscuits, cheese and wine (wine has aphrodisiac qualities). Remember to bring your mat and lots of cushions. To enhance the mood, play the guitar or violin. If you are not musically inclined, you can play soothing music on your iPod or mini radio.
Sky Gazing
Grab some pillows and beach chairs and head off to the nearest beach. Lie back with your loved one and enjoy the peace and quietness as you get entwined in each other’s arms. Recite a poem to your loved one and whisper sweet nothings while gazing at the clear sky, the glittering stars and the moon.
Camping
Select a quiet spot near the beach and pitch a tent. At sunset, go down to the beach and sit down together watching the sun set over the horizon. At night, head back to the camp and enjoy private time with each other. Remember to bring along a portable electric lamp or a torch.
Midnight Cycling
This is only for fitness and health fanatics. Midnight cycling is a fabulous way to spend quality time with your loved one and to tone those muscles. Moderate exercise helps to increase your libido and makes you more confident sexually. If you are hungry after two or three hours of cycling, you can head down to a 24-hour cafe such as Mr Bean’s Café & Wine Bar located at Selegie.
Candlelight dinner at home
Here’s a wonderful opportunity to impress your loved one with your culinary skill. Whip up a three course meal consisting of appetizer, main course and dessert. Remember to include aphrodisiac foods such as oyster, escargot, chocolate and tiramisu. Prepare something that sounds exotic but is not too difficult to cook. However, if you are not a great cook, dining out may be a better option.

The scenery is also beautiful and it is the perfect place for romance to blossom. Sit under the cascading waterfall and soak in the relaxing atmosphere. If you are feeling hungry, visit Desaru fruit farm and try some dragon fruit, durian or soursop. Another fabulous place to go is Danga Bay, the waterfront city of Johor Bahru. There are lots of activities to do such as kite flying, cycling and skateboarding. At night, the place comes to life with lots of street stalls and live entertainment.
