huh ? peel off? sound scary leh..heeeheee

of so many brands i tried, it seems that only estee one can be removed easily when i wash my face, w cleanser. for others, i can see panda eyes slighly (lower lid) after using makeup remover even.

as i put mascara daily, i dun wan to risk my lashes dropping off .....
alet88
heee. yah... I also never use that. I

'm using another brand now. I'm loving it at the moment. Doesn't harden my lashes and don't cause them to drop at all. Easy to remove but need eye make up remover.

Waiting for my DiorShow to arrive then shall comment on it when I get it. wink.gif

I heard from my colleague that Clinque has a mascara that you can peel it off when you want to remove it. Most mascara, it's better to use a proper mascara remover to remove it, to ensure that your lash is clean.

i'm not sure about peeling it off, but Clinique’s Lash Power is washable with only warm water, so don’t need to worry when your eyes turn teary or oily eye area. My current favourite esp during clubbing.
Other than that, it’s Maybelline’s unstoppable… for those who need to wear for long hours!
autumnclouds
let me share with you all the mascaras i've used too! icon_mrgreen2.gif + biggrin.gif + smile.gif

Maybelline Mini-brush mascara
(water resistant)
As the name suggests, the brush is really small and very easy to use. One of my favorites! good.gif
But don't expect dramatic lengthening/voluming effects, cuz it's just a regular mascara with GOOD brush.
I usually use this first and use something else.

Fasio power-stay 3D + air tech curl long
(waterproof)
the brush is designed like a comb, so ur eyelashes wouldn't clump/stick together. But it may take some time to get used to becuz of the contour, so i ended up coloring my eye lids the first few tries.
voluminsing+lengthening effect... hmm.. not too bad.

Kate enamel glow mascara.
(waterproof)
it's supposed to be a volumising mascara, but it works like any regular mascara. Not fantastic.
I think it clumps easily too.. or it may just be my imagination. cuz i don't use it as regularly.

Missha Viewer 270degrees
(no idea if it's waterproof or not.. but i highly doubt it though. heh.)
VERY GOOD. good.gif even without a base coat, i could see my eyelashes grow longer and thicker somewhat.

dejavu Fiber wig
i second Cheeky_devil.. to me, this is no good.. bad.gif

====================================================

polo, if you want something which can washed off easily, how about trying the Maybelline mini lash? It comes out very fast becuz it's only water resistant.

i remembered reading some girls saying that their mascara smudges at the botton of their eye, despite using waterproof mascaras?

This is because mascaras are waterproof, they're never oil-proof.
(if it's oil-proof, then u'll have a hard time removing cuz our eye-makeup remover is an oil+water solution).
So when it comes into contact with ur eye cream which contains oil, it'll smudge. smile.gif
plain.jane
agree with autumnclouds - there is a different between waterproof mascaras and oil-proof mascara.
most times, waterproof are not smudge proof, hence at the end of the day, at the bottom of your eye are black

Go to the counters and try and see which one suits you best. smile.gif

I couldn't go out without wearing mascara ph34r.gif Anyway i went to the counter at Isetan Scotts just now.. The salegirl there really pissed me off icon_ranting.gif So i didn't buy any mascaras sad.gif Brought Anna Sui's LP instead, hope is good..

Anyway HR got any other branches blur.gif

thanks girls ! i tried maybelline XXL (non-waterproof) one, i can still see faint black on the lower lid after washing w cleanser. *faint*

sharing some of my reviews (all non-waterproof) :
Maybelline Turbo Boost
smudge easily. difficult to apply, wand is too thick.

Maybelline XXL
coats lashes nicely, no clumps. but it weighs down the lashes a bit, hence you will have to curl again after application. this risk breaking ur lashes, so no good.

a bit flaky by later part of the day

Revlon Fabulash
by end of day, lower lid has a faint black cast.

maybe its my skin , can absorb those pigments more easily. hahaha. despite using eye makeup remover from bodyshop, sometimes i can see a teeny faint black cast or residue on under lid, or corner of eyes. arrrggggh

Yup~ I also agree that Diorshow's wand is too big, always touches my eyelids=( Gonna try other mascaras le.. But i think Diorshow curl power is really very good, can last me for the whole day..

BabyAtlantis : I also using Shiseido Eyelash Curler.. But if i just curl for 20 sec is not enought after apply mascara my lashes will come down=( Must curl for very long & lotsa times than can hold.. Thus, my lashes drop very often.. How i envy you, got such nice lashes..

princess*xueqi*, mabbe after curling, u need to apply a good mascara base before yr mascara..coz i noe some girls' eyelashes are always like facing down so harder to curl..Since young, my eyelashes are facing upwards so mabbe its easier for me to curl for a shorter period of time bah redface.gif
I heard Kate Mascara Base is good..but in SG, it is all OOS..U can try Kanebo Treatment Mascara Base..at days when i wan to have a nude look , i juz go wif the base w/o mascara and it already holds my curls and lengthens well..It repairs yr lashes too and adds fibres to lengthen them ya notti.gif

Hee, you're so cute. If you wear the mascara out, then how to try out the mascara at the counters? hmm... wink.gif slowly lar. See got anymore reviews or not.
princess*xueqi*
Haha.. Ya what you said is true, so i always drag someone who don't wear mascara & help me try out the effects smile.gif

BabyAtlantis : My lashes often drop when i'm curling my lashes=( So now i don't dare to curl my lashes everyday, curl them only when there's special occasion.. Anyway thank..

Cheeky_devil : Ok thank!

Anyway got something rediculous to share.. The 1st Diorshow i used give me max lengthening & abit of volume giving me a dolly look & can really hold curl well.. BUT the 2nd tube i'm using now doesn't give me lengthening at all, but lotsa volume till it clumps my lashes & can't hold curl that well sad.gif What happened, anyone come across this type of problem too blur.gif

haha.. i agree .
unless u remove your makeup at the counter. Then again, not all of the makeup girls are so gracious, i feel. some are mean sad.gif
.

actually its better to try the mascara on ur lashes, cuz different lashes may have different effect?

======================

i have a question.. it sounds stupid, but what's a mascara base for? is it the white tube with white stuff in it?
it's just to lengthen, right?

why does it help to hold the curl??? blur.gif

hmm.. maybe lashes drop cuz you curl them when it's 99% dry? hehe.. i don't know.. mine hasn't dropped, but my curl doesnt stay! The worst.. half my eyelashes (towards the outer eye) curls naturally, the other half faces downwards! so difficult to curl ah!
strawbsc
shiyue & princess*xueqi* : I also using Shiseido eye lash curler combined with this one..

IPB Image

This is also heated curler I bought from tokyo.and it removes clumps.. smile.gif

A mascara base is basically synthetic plastic. Hence helping to hold curls and lengthening the lash. But prolong usage will cause the lash to drop. So use if on special occasion will do. Can refer to the thread on mascara base. Or somewhere in that thread or this thread, I talked a little on it. smile.gif

Mavala and mascara containing vit E will help to strengthen the lash. You must curl gently yet firmly. Not do it in a pulling action. Once you clip on your lash, slowly let it go. It shouldn't fall so much. smile.gif
polo
i don't have much problem maintaining the curl though , with the use of the Shu Uemura eyelash curler. last me the whole day.

so even if i don't apply mascara, i would just curl my lashes before going out.
princess*xueqi*
autumnclouds : Yeap not all salegirls are so nice =E But i did came across some that voluntarily offers to help me remove & apply the mascara on my lashes=) This is what i call service.. They also bother to expain the effects of all their mascaras so that i can have a wider choice in terms of which i really want to get.. That's nice.. But those salegirl at Anna Sui & HR simply turn me off.. They just stand there & when you ask them questions they like not willing to answer much =/ Than i won't buy..

My lashes are hard to curl too.. I face almost the same problem as you.. Half my eyelashes (towards the outer eye) CAN'T hold curl, the other half can curl up nicely.. Looks weird haha..

alet88 : You mean prolong usage of mascara base will cause lashes to drop.. But the salegirl always tell me that mascara base is very important it helps to strengthen lashes & prevent them from dropping.. So that is not true??

Do all mascaras containing vit E? I heard wearing mascras for too long will weaken our lashes & cause them to drop easily when removing mascaras.. True??

Not all mascara base. Depending on what ingredients they use. I used before, and found that my lashes do drop. Very heart pain.

And again, not all mascaras contain Vit E. I've been using mascara everyday all my life. And the one I'm using now is the best. No lashes drop. good.gif The other mascara make my lash looks unhealthy, though some do have some good effects(refer to my reviews on the mascaras I've used). According to my mom, she says I look the best with this mascara so far.

So far the mascaras I know that contain lash vitamins are Malava and E.Funkhouser. I'm going to try out DiorShow when I receive it, then shall do a review and share with all. smile.gif
princess*xueqi*
Haha same i also use mascara everyday:x So you were saying that so far E.Funkhouser's mascara is the best huh?

Anyway anymore reviews on HR lash queen blur.gif

princess*xueqi*, You're Welcomiesss biggrin.gif
Did u apply yr Mavala religiously???Like every morning and night???I apply my Mavala or Talika everyday day and night..For beauty's sake, got to do it often and try not to forget lo..My eyelashes dropped much last time but now very seldom..Mabbe drop 1 or 2 in about a few days good.gif

I always prefer using Japanese mascaras..they always seems to suit me better..
I try before those English brands like Bourjois, Maybelline, Loreal..Always seems to clump on my eyelashes or can't hold the curls well hammer.gif

I have tried Kanebo, Fasio, Majorlica Majorca..all holds my curls well and minimum clumps..But i love Majorlica Majorca LE the most..coz of the great lengthening power^^

For me, it's the best so far. Helps with a little growing in lash too. You want I can let you try.

I just got my DiorShow today. Will try it tomorrow and review! smile.gif I don't mind trying other mascaras if they have good reviews.

BabyAtlantis : Yeap, i apply mavala every night but in the morning i seldom apply.. Lazy:x But once in awhile will apply Goodlash.. I have this feeling that if i apply them will affect the curling power as in weigh my lashes down, so always never apply..

This brand is not available off the shelf, it's a professional make up brand from New York. The mascara contains vit E and other moisturising ingredients. It give me enough volume, curl and length. I sometimes go out without curling my lash too. Prolong usage helps to enhance lash growth. I use this mascara during the day, and the mavala at night. smile.gif
paipan
I'm using VOV from korea and it has vitamin E too and I love the lenghtening effect without smudging and it's waterproof.

But price a little bit higher than other mascara at $22.
princess*xueqi*
$22 is considered cheap for a mascara... Haha i normally invest in high-end brand.. Always have the thinking that higher price give better results=) But the most i'll spent is $50..
alet88
I used DiorShow today. Very nice effects! good.gif Made my lash looked super long. But like during mid day start to smudge and flaked a little by evening. dry.gif

hey girls, i found my salvation in missha's mascara. the one with the purple cap.
it's quite good. combines lengthening and volume for me.
i hav tried xxl, lash discovery, deja vu and so far, missha is the best for me.
has the most obvious results.

ur cld give it a try too! (:

Comparing HR Lash Queen & Diorshow mascaras..
* Note : Both are waterproof & are 3in1 mascaras.. (Meaning volume, lengthening + curling)

HR Lash Queen
- Give max lengthening & volume
- Curling power not bad just have to curl for awhile after u apply
- Easy to apply

Diorshow
- Give me thicker & fatter lashes, more intense look
- Not much lengthening
- In term of curling power is the BEST, even without using curler my lashes also can curl up
- Easy to remove

Hmmm think Diorshow is one of the best mascara so far good.gif Those who haben try can consider to try smile.gif But of coz everything has it's pros & cons.. HR Lash Queen is not bad too at least the wand is much SMALLER & EASIER to apply compared to Diorshow & the "liquid" won't dry up so fast as compared to Diorshow..

I've heard from other forums..that its not very effective in volumnising as it claims to be..
So i rather stick wif the MM LE...very good in lengthening and holding my curls..But its abit difficult to remove at times even wif my Fancl MCO.. sweatingbullets.gif

i love Ettusias Hypercurl Separate!! It makes my eyes look so sexy... tongue.gif

i'm using ZA cutiecurl..not bad...quite easy to use for beginners...
Abcszlim
I'm also using Ettusias Hypercurl Separate. It really make my eyeslashes separates and curl throught the day. It seems to be voluminise my eyelashes too.
nursemissy
I'm using Paul & Joe's duo mascara. The one with volume on one side and curl on the other. The effect is not bad.And it comes off easily.Does not smudge for me.What I like abt this mascara is tat the Volume side there is two combs. The big one for your upper lashes and the smaller one for your lower lashes. So it is easy to use. After brushing on the curl side of the mascara,I will brush on the Volume side by using the wand vertically on each and every lash then I do the same for my lower lashes but den use the shorter comb on the Volume brush to coat every lash veritically. After application,I'll brush my lashes with a lash comb. A tip I learnt from the P&J SA.For me this mascara works although a bit troublesome to apply and take some practice at first. smile.gif
no_rain
Used to love Estee Lauder's Illusionist but will be sticking to Ettusias Hypercurl Separate from now on!
FunkyChicken
just bought fasio 3D airtech mascara thing. hope it will be better than ZA!

maybelline XXL is very good.. as good as za cutie curl.
polo
i find the XXL weighs down the lashes. it goes on well, and no clumping. but lashes lose the curl.

its definitely XXL, coz i dun experience it with other mascaras. the curl stay put after application.
peppermin
XXL is good for the 'fake eyelash' look!!! but it smudges abit for me sad.gif
currently using Bloom's Full & Flirty mascara in Black (can get from SASA). It lengthens and holds up my curls very well!!! better than the Lancome's hypnose i was using.. hiak hiak...cheaper somemore tongue.gif

my fav mascara, Maybelline Lash Discovery

i bought this two days ago... its doesnt clump or smudge. but neither did it add any volume despite repeated applications .... sad.gif
good if u want a natural look, coz its not that obvious that mascara is applied. kekeke

still in search for my fav mascara.....continues....
yaqiii
my fav mascara for now,

Opera volume control mascara, its a cute gadget i would say, there's numbers 1 to 10 which you can adjust the volume of macsara u want.

it lengthens my lashes very well, very long lashes after application!

not much curl though but i would use my finger to push the lashes up when its about to dryand the curl looks very natural and stays for the whole day!

doesn't smudge at all even though i have oily lids.

easy to wash off as well! only requires warm water, doesn't make ur eyelids black black after washing. now i haven touched my eye makeup remover for weeks. shutup.gif

one thing i notice, when i apply the mascara in open area, i mean like my room where there are fans and aircon on its very difficult to apply the mascara but if i apply it in my bathroom where there more moisture in the surrounding, its easy to apply and lengthens very well. anyone encounters this too?
