So far as heard, Bright 9Li Ming) at Clementi and Serangoon Broadway/Hougang Broadway seem to be pretty raved about.
Any more of such recommendation?
TIA!!

Jun 27 2005, 08:53 PM
serangoon broadway got 2 packages if im not wrong..the family one is around 250 for 14R size..and the thing is that if we take the package from them, they are throwing in the gown free.as for the number of shots we can choose..im not sure but i think only one..
i just saw their brochure and the the photos seem quite traditional type one..dun look too creative or impressive.
and i just gathered some info that bright clementi like not very good..got some people say bad experience..like they assign some trainee to take the photos, lighting not good, people blink in thier photos and they continue shooting..im not sure if this is true..but doesnt reflect well on bright larhs..
maybe can try protrait gallery..family package at 200+ and individual 28 nia..

YeaP! Need Some recommendations of the best studio to take graduation pics with my family!! Any suggestions?
I hate Serangoon Broadway Studio Service.
They are so cocky coz they supply gowns to my school and they have BAD BAD BAD sales staff.

My visit to Serangoon Broadway was fine...the staff there a bit hard sale, but generally quite friendly.
I suspect their makeup service is bad though. Cuz i saw a girl coming out of the studio and her eye shadow was those very old fashioned kind - pink with blue on the double eyelids...haha
So maybe i'll be doing my own makeup!

I took mine at Tanjong Pagar... one of those shophouses near to Amoy food centre... i suddenly forgot the name and the receipt isn;t with me but they are the main photographers for NUS.
The photos turned out good. However, you have to do your own make up.

No. They don't do makeup for us. We have to apply makeup on our own. They only provide some hair gel, pins for keeping the hair in place.

Seems like every1's saying Broadway is bad.. But from all my friend who went there, they said it was good. And after flipping through the phamplets i received when i went to collect my gown yesterday, broadway sample looks best. The others look dumb. From the phamplets from Broadway, their package ranges from $110-$980. =)

Can always call for more details.

ok.. i jus took up a package at broadway
IMO, i think its not bad though its kind of exp. agree that they tend to hard sell.. but service is alright la.. they are friendly pple.
my only worry is that the make up may be kind of old fashion but everything else should be worth it..
they will do make up for every member of your family even if its 30 pple. and its 100% guaranteed service... they told me that u can take as many shots as you want until theres one perfect one that you like.
the final canvas piece will be touched up manually.. not using computer.. and according to them, it will look more natural. framing will be done also.. and you can choose the type of frame you fancy.
another thing is.. they provide suits for guys and for my case, they provide the convo gown for my sis who graduated 2 yrs back as well. AND, they give me my gown FOC..
not too bad right..

Some bridal shops also take graduation photos package also include makeup. I find them more creative in their pose than the standard shops that specialise in graduation photo-takings.. what's more their makeup also more up to date.... the disadvantage is not all have the gowns of your uni esp if you overseas uni like me

My graduation's coming soon.. in April... Serangoon Broadway studio's one the "official" place where everyone has to collect their gowns from.... i'm really thinking whether to buy a package from there.. or try other places, from what I know, I will be able to hold onto the gown for more than a week, so it doesn't matter whether the other places have gowns for my uni.... BUT do they include free makeover? or should I say makeup?? And is it good?
I got seriously bad complexion, i mean, as for scars and such, will they be able to cover them up with make up? or maybe do some editing to make sure that the picture turns out nice?
Any other good places to intro?

May 24 2006, 01:01 PM
sure..
unlike serangoon broadway, they use digital camera to snap the photos... and its editable using some software... the photographer's quite a patient and frenly fella too... maybe professional too? coz he's very particular about how you stand and even where you place your hands...

i think i paid $250 for
One 11x14 (canvas + frame)
One 5R (ordinary photo + frame)
and 6 x 4R (one pose )
all these 3 pictures are burnt into CD for me too.
And paid an additional $30 for makeover. (coz i took one of the cheaper packages, which does not include makeover, any packages after that will include makeovers)
They snapped quite a number of pictures for me to choose... and if i want to buy additional ones, it's at 10 bucks per picture, but they do not develop it for us, but just add it into the CD along with the first 3 pictures.
You can request them to help u edit your picture to perfection after u have viewed them... i told the photographer to lighten some lines and wow.. he also help me to straighten my teeth a little bit (i realised). although i didn't ask him to.
. . . .
I can't say this place's superb, although the photographer's quite a nice and skillful fella... but they do many little mistakes here and there...
I have to go back there again, coz it was supposed to be canvas material for my 11x14cm photo. They made a mistake by sending an order to the factory for a normal one.
But overall i am satisfied with the photographs, although the shade for the face of the actual photo developed is alot lighter/fairer than the jpeg file that was burnt in my CD, i don't know why...
